On April 19th, 2021, invited by the Asian Games Organizing Committee, faculty of CAST·CVM Chiyu Guan, DVM attended the briefing conference of the progress in establishing the Equine Disease Free Zone (EDFZ) in Hangzhou as one of the interpreters. Guanghua Chen, Deputy Director of the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Hong Wang, Deputy Mayor of Hangzhou and the Head of the Leading Group Office for EDFZ Establishment, Zengren Zheng, Deputy Director of China Animal Health and Epidemiology Center, experts of OIE, Asian Equestrian Federation, Hongkong Jockey Club and etc. have attended the video conference.

The conference started with a video reporting the current progress of EDFZ Establishment in Tonglu, Hangzhou, followed by free discussion among the participants. Guanghua Chen and Hong Wang then separately delivered their speech acknowledging the achievement so far and shedding light on the future of EDFZ.

As a member of the Office of EDFZ Establishment, CAST·CVM，ZAFU， Dr. Guan has dedicated herself as a proofreader, translator and interpreter. She exemplifies the active involvement of CAST·CVM in providing technical support from various perspectives to the establishment of EDFZ in Tonglu, Hangzhou, in collaboration with the Asian Games Organizing Committee, Bureaux of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in all districts and etc. The establishment of EDFZ has entered a critical stage of preparation of self declaration and global acceptance. CAST·CVM will continue to play its part with no sparing effort in face of the upcoming challenges in the establishment of EDFZ.
