CAST·CVM Students Attended the First International Veterinary Education Conference
On Nov.21st, 2020, 18 undergraduate and 20 graduate students had an enlightening morning by joining the first International Veterinary Education conference co-organized by PetcareAbc and the U.S-China Center for Animal Health (USCCAH) at Kansas State University through Bilibili Live Stream.
Firstly, Dr. Lei Wang, the manager of Education Programs at USCCAH presented an overview of the U.S.-China DVM Scholarship Program regarding to its vision, history, alumni, application process and etc. During the second hour, Dr. Ryane Englar, the Director of Veterinary Skills Development and an enthusiastic educator in the University of Arizona delivered her a marvelous lecture on how to perform a physical exam in small animals. Finally, a thought-provoking lecture comparing the control strategies of CSFV, ASFV and COVID-19 in U.S. and China was given by Professor Jishu Shi, the director of USCCAH. The Q&A sessions were swamped with questions and eagerness to learn more about the current and future topics.
Thanks to the conference, the students had a little taste of class experience in an American setting and are now one step closer to the U.S.- China DVM scholarship program, an opportunity worth pursuing for those who dream big for the future veterinary education in China.
