CAST Undergraduates Won the Grand Prize in the 5th National "Centre Cup" Animal Medicine Professional Skills Competition of University Students.
From October 31 to November 2, 2018, the 5th National "Santheil Cup" Competition of Veterinary Medicine Professional Skills for College Undergraduates was held in Yangzhou. More than 2,000 referees, leaders, instructors and competitors from 64 universities in China participated in the competition. The competition is sponsored by the Teaching Steering Committee of Animal Medicine Specialty of the Ministry of Education and hosted by Yangzhou University.
The competition was conducted on the spot. Four players from each team took turns to compete in three events, namely, goat rumen incision, pathogenic bacteria examination and hemagglutination test and pathological examination of poultry. The whole competition is with a time limit of 2 hours per individual match. The referee committee of this contest is composed of 70 presidents, senior judges and judges.
Our college dispatched a delegation headed by President Song Houhui, with Shao Chunyan, Yang Yongchun and Yang Yang as instructors and six students, including three from Class 152 of Veterinay Medicine, Wang Wenwen, Sun Chao, Zheng Kaini and three from Class 161 of Veterinay Medicine, Taoqi, Zhang Yizhe and Zhi Xuechun, as representatives of our college in the competition.
After two days of fierce competition, our contestants won the Grand Prize in one fell swoop.
The grand competition is unprecedented, which is of great significance to strengthen the practical and innovative ability of College students, promote teaching by competition, improve the teaching level of animal medicine education, and implement the plan of training eminent agricultural and forestry talents.
